January 29, 2025

Dear COBA Members,

We are pleased to announce that if you completed college courses in the year 2024, you may be eligible for Course Reimbursement through the Correction Officers Benevolent Association (COBA). To begin the application process, we invite you to visit our Union Office located at 504 East Meadow Avenue, East Meadow, NY 11554, where you can fill out the Course Reimbursement Application and the Claim Voucher.

The Course Reimbursement Fund has been established to support our members by providing reimbursement of up to 50% of the tuition paid for undergraduate and graduate courses taken at accredited colleges. To qualify for this reimbursement, it is essential that you achieve a grade of at least C+ in your courses.

Eligibility for this program extends to any active member of COBA who enrolled in college-level courses during the calendar year 2024 and meets the aforementioned criteria. Please note that the reimbursement applies solely to tuition expenses; all other costs incurred are the responsibility of the member.

For further assistance or to submit your application for course reimbursement, please do not hesitate to contact the COBA Office at (516) 937-7800 or via email at nassaucoba@gmail.com. Additional information regarding the Course Reimbursement Fund can also be accessed on our Union website at www.NassauCOBA.com. Once on the site, please sign in and click the "Contracts/Forms" link located at the top of the page.

When submitting your application for Course Reimbursement, you must provide a copy of your bursar receipt for tuition paid, along with a copy of your transcript reflecting grades of at least C+ for each course taken. For courses evaluated on a pass/fail basis, a "pass" grade will be considered acceptable.

Please be reminded that all course reimbursement requests for the calendar year 2024 must be submitted to the COBA Office no later than

 January 31, 2025.

Thank you for your attention to this important matter, and we look forward to supporting your educational endeavors.
