COBA is saddened to report the passing of Active Duty Department
K-9 Member "Hoss" age 9.
Shield # K9-10, Hoss was a Dual Purpose German Shepard Narcotics/Patrol Dog, who faithfully served the Nassau County Sheriffs Dept since 2016.
The K9 partner of Correction Officer Todd Putman, Hoss was a constant presence patrolling the Correctional Facility.
Since 2018, Hoss has also been a consistent performer and finalist, having competed and placed in numerous USPCA Regional and National Narcotics, Tracking, Vehicle Search and Detector Dog Trials.
On behalf of the Board of Governors of the Correction Officers Benevolent Association and all Nassau Correction Officers we extend our condolences to Officer Puttman, his family and all those who grieve his loss.
