Today, six Nassau County Correction Officers were honored for their service and actions at a public hearing of the Nassau County Legislature. In the past, Nassau Police Officers have been recognized for their actions as "Top Cops" by the Legislature, and rightfully so. Today the Legislature, in cooperation with COBA added our Correction Officers to this rightful recognition for their actions in a profession that we all know is one of the most dangerous and thankless jobs in Law Enforcement.
Their actions in preventing a major gang fight between Bloods and MS-13 Gang Members and removing weapons from the field were commendable, life saving and deserving of this rightful recognition.
Honored today with Legislative Citations were:
- Sgt. Mark Curatolo
- Cpl. Matthew Horton
- Officer Glenn Harris
- Officer John Grassi
- Officer Anthony Lipp and;
- Officer Michael DeSimone
Congratulations and job well done!
