COVID Emergency Responder Service Bars Delivered to Correctional Center by Nassau Legislature's Majority Leader Richard Nicolello
Dear COBA Members;
The Nassau County Legislature's Republican Majority Leader Richard Nicolello paid a visit to the Correctional Center Wednesday April 7th, to deliver the Legislature's COVID First Responder Service Bars to our Members.
Several months ago, the Legislature announced their intention to issue these Service Bars in recognition of the dedicated service performed by Nassau County's First Responders during the Pandemic. It took awhile to have the Bars produced and there was also a delay in presenting them due to the second wave of COVID cases.
Representatives from each Command at the Correctional Center were invited to meet and receive the recognition on behalf of their respective Units.
In attendance and represented where Members from the North and South Security Housing Areas; Operations; Transportation; Medical; Fire Safety; Rehab and Human Resources. We accepted on behalf of our dedicated Investigative Units, and since Visiting is still closed we accepted on their behalf through the Security Unit. Also in attendance were representatives of our Civilian Support Staff.
All COBA Members will receive First Responder Service Bars.
Human Resources is in possession of the Bars until they can be evenly distributed to our Members.
Thank you to Legislative Majority Leader Rich Nicolello for recognizing the hard work of our dedicated Correction Officers who bravely performed their duties on behalf of the residents of Nassau County each day in the face of this global pandemic.
See below a photo of the presentation.
In Unity;
Brian Sullivan, COBA President
