As most of you now know, Nassau County Correction Officer Lou Mendez and his wife received the devastating news that their 4 yr old son was just diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor.

A "Gift Card Meal Train"  has been setup to help Lou Mendez and his family. Over the next days, weeks, and months they will need to be at countless doctor appointments, hospital stays and treatments.

Many people have reached asking how they can help. The following plan has been set to help the Mendez family as they deal with day to day issues involving their son.

We are asking our members to donate Gift Cards from area restaurants and eateries that deliver. This will enable Louie's parents to be able to concentrate on him and take the burden off the family for many day to day meals. Any donated Gift Cards can be dropped off at the COBA Office and as of today, there will be envelopes at the 4500 Desk and the Core Control Desks to deposit these Gift Cards. The envelopes will be collected at 1600 hours on Friday, Aug 18 and given to the family.
