COBA: Late or Missing Overtime Payments

July 30, 2024

Dear COBA Members

This month Nassau County DID NOT timely pay some of our members’ hard-earned overtime, which is the fourth or fifth time this year. We are done asking and telling them to do their job. We are currently in Federal Court litigating the County’s prior failures to timely pay overtime. And, though the overtime at issue in that Federal litigation has been paid, we are seeking liquidated (monetary) damages against the County for those prior failures. We intend to add their most recent failures to that claim in Federal Court and will seek liquidated (monetary) damages for these 2024 issues, as well. When they pay overtime late, we will make them pay more for their failures.

Your participation in, and complaints as part of, this Federal Court action and are important to us. To add these more recent claims to our Federal Court action, we ask those who believe their overtime was paid late, or not paid at all, please fill out the form below.

We are asking these forms be emailed to

3rd Vice President Gulliksen

Bgulliksen@NassauCoba.com

or faxed (516) 822-8726.

We will be in Federal Court in the next few weeks, so please submit this ASAP, so we can have them ready.

Fraternally Yours,

Pete Lilli

President
