It is with great sadness that COBA reports the untimely passing of Retired Correction Officer James M. Brooks, father of Correction Officer Tiayia Brooks. Officer James M. Brooks was appointed to the Sheriff's Department on March 16, 2001 and retired on May 3, 2024. At this time, we have not been notified of any arrangements, but once any information is available we will send it out. We ask you to keep the Brooks family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
